Drummer & Educating Artist
Chris Hoffmann (born February 15, 1991) is a german drummer, live and studio musician, educating artist and student at Popakademie Baden-Württemberg in Mannheim. Chris began his musical studies at the jazz college of music in Mainz-Germany in 2011 and graduated top graded in 2016.
He studied drums with Hendrik Smock and Ralf Schumacher, vocals with Manfred Billmann and composition & arrangement with Prof. Dr. Jesse Milliner.
Since 2016 Chris has been a drum student at Popakademie Baden-Württemberg in Mannheim where he currently is pursuing his master studies. Over the years Chris has played on various studio productions and has been the live drummer with his bands. They received several awards, released their music on professional platforms and appeared on radio and TV.
Being taught by today’s leading educators and clinicians such as Mike Johnston, Udo Dahmen, Claus Hessler and Jost Nickel combined with his passion for teaching, Chris has become an upcoming talent in drum education himself.
He is also a masterclass-author for german drum magazine „DrumHeads“ and online drum instructor for „onlinelessons.tv“.
In the course of his musical career Chris worked with national and international musicians such as Grammy Award Winner Carlos Nunez, Klaus Graf (SWR, german radio Big Band), Thorsten Skringer, Claus Fischer, Wolfgang Dalheimer (heavytones), Axel Müller (Gregor Meyle), Caro Trischler and Danyiom.
He is currently doing clinics, workshops and playing live shows with Leopold and Sven Garrecht.
